Energy Service Agreement (ESA)

Significant energy efficiency upgrades to steam distribution systems are often not financially viable for businesses because of the investment required to bring equipment up to date. Alternatively, when companies delay significant upgrades, their bottom lines are impacted by spending time and money maintaining existing steam system infrastructure. It's a common pain point for maintenance and operating budgets.

An alternative funding option, an Energy Service Agreement (ESA), offers facilities the opportunity to focus on what they do best while ensuring that their facilities are performing at their peak with brand new high-efficiency equipment.

The ESA Solution:

In partnership with Renew Energy Partners, Steam Management will design, build, install, and maintain your steam system with no capital investment on your part. You earn savings right away from your new energy-efficient system.

Each month after installation, a portion of the savings goes to Renew Energy Partners for the duration of the agreement. At the end of the agreement, you take ownership of the new systems at no cost or a small fraction of the cost, and 100% of the savings go to your bottom line.

Energy Service Agreements (ESA’s) are a type of funding solution that enables building owners to implement energy-efficiency and on-site power generation upgrades today without making a financial investment upfront.
- Just like a utility service, an ESA is an off-balance sheet expense and 100% tax deductible
- ESA’s can be used for any efficiency project like lighting, HVAC, and smart energy controls or any on-site power generation like solar / storage or combined heat and power (CHP)
- ESA’s take the financial and project implementation burden off of the building owner; and building owners pay a monthly amount that is less than the total saved, so from day one there is savings applied to the bottom line

We fund, install, and manage systems for energy-efficiency and on-site clean power generation at no cost to the building owner.
Upgrades are funded by future savings. Renew Energy Partners provides the up-front capital and expertise to purchase, install, and maintain the new systems under an energy service agreement (ESA). Monthly, for the duration of the agreement, a portion of the savings is payed to Renew Energy Partners and a portion goes to the building owner.
