High-Impact Insulation Upgrades for Performance Contracts

Steam, hot water, and chilled water systems lose significant energy when insulation is missing, damaged, or improperly installed. For ESCOs pursuing performance contracts, thermal insulation is a low-risk, high-impact ECM that supports measurable utility savings, emissions reductions, and occupant safety.

Support Your ESPC with High-ROI Insulation Upgrades

Our expert team identifies improvement opportunities and installs conventional insulation and RICs to:

Reduce thermal losses across piping, valves, & equipment

Support decarbonization and energy savings goals

Eliminate burn risk and improve workplace safety

Construction Safety

Maximize lifecycle performance of mechanical systems

While our team is conducting the survey, we often identify additional energy conservation opportunities and can develop associated scopes to help maximize efficiency and savings.

Our Proven Process

We review available information and data to identify possible opportunities and build a Rough Order of Magnitude.

Desktop Analysis

A preliminary audit and on-site visit takes place to evaluate the current system and building conditions.

Project Assessment

A comprehensive audit is conducted to obtain detailed data on system performance and potential energy savings.

Investment Grade Audit

We collaborate with your team to create a tailored proposal with phased implementation options, ensuring it aligns with project goals and budget.

Proposal Generation & Revisions

The agreement is formalized to confirm energy performance standards are met.

Contracting

Full-service installation, verifying all project components are seamlessly implemented.

Turnkey Project Intallation

We ensure customer acceptance, confirm energy savings, and verify that all system components function optimally.

Startup and Commissioning

Ongoing period-of-performance support, including recommissioning to maintain optimal system performance.

Aftermarket Support

How We Collaborate with You

We understand the unique needs of ESCOs and offer flexible ways to partner.

  1. Paid Audit: The ESCO pays upfront for the development of the audit and project scope.

  2. Deferred Risk: A shared-risk approach where payment for the audit is deferred to the construction phase. This includes a breakage fee if the project does not proceed.

  3. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU): We work under an MOU framework, which can take two forms:

    1. MOU with Breakage Fee: We provide services at-risk but are reimbursed through a breakage fee if the project does not move forward.

    2. MOU Without Breakage Fee: We commit at-risk, with no initial payment, supported by a written agreement.

  4. At-Risk: If you secure the project, we are brought in as a partner to execute the work.
