Industry-Leading Steam Trap Solutions for ESCOs
Steam Management, Inc. partners with ESCOs nationwide to maximize energy efficiency and operational reliability of steam systems. With decades of expertise, we provide comprehensive steam trap surveys, repairs, and replacements that integrate seamlessly with your efforts and deliver measurable energy savings.
Why Steam Trap Optimization Matters for Your Projects
Most steam systems have malfunctioning steam traps, which waste energy, drive up utility costs, and compromise system reliability. Identifying these failures and implementing the appropriate repairs and replacements is crucial for:
Maximizing Efficiency and Energy Savings: Capture up to 10-30% energy savings by addressing inefficiencies.
Ensuring System Reliability: Minimize disruptions, more accurately achieve target setpoints, and avoid costly equipment failures.
Improved Safety: Minimize the destructive effects of water hammer, caused by condensate buildup in steam lines due to failed traps.
Utility Incentives: Many utilities have incentives for steam trap repairs and monitoring systems that offset a significant portion of the cost, maximizing ROI on the project.
Achieving Compliance: Meet or exceed energy savings targets with measurable results.
Sustained performance: Proactive maintenance optimizes efficiency and ROI.
While our team is conducting the survey, we often identify additional energy conservation opportunities and can develop associated scopes to help maximize efficiency and savings.
Our Proven Process
We review available information and data to identify possible opportunities and build a Rough Order of Magnitude.
Desktop Analysis
A preliminary audit and on-site visit takes place to evaluate the current system and building conditions.
Project Assessment
A comprehensive audit is conducted to obtain detailed data on system performance and potential energy savings.
Investment Grade Audit
We collaborate with your team to create a tailored proposal with phased implementation options, ensuring it aligns with project goals and budget.
Proposal Generation & Revisions
The agreement is formalized to confirm energy performance standards are met.
Contracting
Full-service installation, verifying all project components are seamlessly implemented.
Turnkey Project Intallation
We ensure customer acceptance, confirm energy savings, and verify that all system components function optimally.
Startup and Commissioning
Ongoing period-of-performance support, including recommissioning to maintain optimal system performance.
Aftermarket Support
How We Collaborate with You
We understand the unique needs of ESCOs and offer flexible ways to partner.
Paid Audit: The ESCO pays upfront for the development of the audit and project scope.
Deferred Risk: A shared-risk approach where payment for the audit is deferred to the construction phase. This includes a breakage fee if the project does not proceed.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU): We work under an MOU framework, which can take two forms:
MOU with Breakage Fee: We provide services at-risk but are reimbursed through a breakage fee if the project does not move forward.
MOU Without Breakage Fee: We commit at-risk, with no initial payment, supported by a written agreement.
At-Risk: If you secure the project, we are brought in as a partner to execute the work.
From Start to Finish: Exceptional Support
From initial surveys to final documentation, our seasoned team of steam experts provides unmatched support, clear communication, and thorough documentation. At project completion, your client’s steam distribution system will operate more efficiently, safely, and reliably, delivering reduced utility costs and a decrease in carbon emissions.
